I CAN STILL COOK!Friday, September 14, 2012
After moving into residence, I realized that I forgot to bring so many things..
Camera, vanilla. cocoa powder, chilli flakes, red pepper paste, black pepper, more than one mixing bowl, food scale, chiffon cake pan, pretty plates to take pictures with, plastic shot glasses (for mousse cups), container for jelly... *are you still reading?* :)
And it has become rather problematic because
#1 I can't take beautiful pictures (partly because the lighting in the kitchen is so dim and yellow-y)
#2 I had to grate chocolate to replace cocoa powder
#3 My chiffon cake wasn't tall and fluffy
#4 No soon tofu~~~~~ (no chilli flakes)

BUT I GUESS I'LL HAVE TO MAKE DO WITH WHATEVER I HAVE. SO INSTEAD OF NICE PICTURES, HERE ARE FILTERED AND TWEAKED IMAGES!

I HAVE LOTS OF CABBAGE IN THE FRIDGE = EVERY MEAL CONSISTS OF CABBAGE. SURPRISINGLY, WE HAVEN'T BEEN EATING MUCH RICE. THE ONLY TIMES WE DID WAS WHEN I MADE KIMCHI FRIED RICE AND THIS LAST NIGHT:
NO, I DIDN'T MAKE THIS. IT WAS FROM DIMSUM A FEW DAYS AGO... (I RE-STEAMED IT!)
AND HOW CAN WE LAST THROUGH THE LONG NIGHTS WITHOUT INSTANT NOODLES?
WE REALLY LIKE THE JAJANGMYUN :), ANY OTHER KOREAN INSTANT NOODLES AND MAMA INSTANT NOODLES.
TO FULFILL OUR OTHER MIDNIGHT SNACK CRAVINGS, WE HAD WHITE-CHOCO-MACADAMIA-NUT COOKIES, BUT WHAT WAS EVEN BETTER WAS:
"WHERE DID YOU GET THIS?"
From the States, where they also have the special summer blue cream Oreos.
AND LOOK! THEY'RE VERY CONVENIENT TO OPEN:
It's pink! - and the bag is resealable.
SOME PEOPLE CAN ARGUE THAT PINK IS MY FAVOURITE COLOUR BECAUSE I HAVE LOTS OF PINK-COLOURED THINGS (PENCIL CASE, COSMETICS BAG, STATIONERY, POUCHES, GLASSES...)
BUT RECENTLY I'M WEARING LOTS OF BLUE COLOURED CLOTHING! MAYBE MY COLOUR IS CHANGING...
LET'S END TODAY OFF WITH A CAKE:
THE TIRAMISU THAT DIDN'T HAVE COCOA POWDER BUT CHOCO SHAVINGS INSTEAD.
